Can a breastfeeding mother fast?

Can a breastfeeding mother fast?

Yes, you can fast in your breastfeeding period. But do a 12-hour fast instead of 16, because you are producing and feeding breastmilk to your child. It is an energy extensive process and your body may feel hungry sooner.

The ideal diet plan for breastfeeding mothers is given below. Feel free to adjust the timings as per your convenience-

8AM - 70ml Dhoob Grass Juice (extremely effective in increasing the milk capacity in a woman)
9 AM - Ash gourd juice
10 AM - one big platter of fresh fruits along with 3 big slices of coconut giri
12:30 PM - 7 to 8 soaked nuts (like almonds & walnuts) & 2 dates
2PM - 2 to 3 Satvic chapatis with 2 big bowls of Satvic
5PM - herbal tea / any fresh juice
6:30 PM - Satvic Salad & Soup (make sure to include at least 1 cup of vegetable sprouts in your salad).

Refer to our Food Book or website  for information about vegetable sprouts.
